Holidays make it hard!

Last Friday it was very hard to get out the door and to the gym, but with determination I was able to make my goal.  Unfortunately, the person that works at the gym did not have the same determination!  Kelly and I sat infront of the gym for 20 min. waiting for someone to show up.  Grrrrrrrrr!  So today was my first time back in a week and I could feel it.  We made it through...realizing it is going to take as while to burn of all this turkey and pie.  Good luck to all of you, keep it up!

Late night...up early!

Well, today I was glad just to be at the gym after not getting to bed until midnight.  Thanks to my hubby pushing me out the door and my work out buddy I made it!  We did take it pretty easy today, but gave ourselves credit for being there.

Still going

Well, I don't think I'm working as hard as Jennica and Kellie, but I am still playing basketball at least 3 times a week.  I need to start doing something more though so I can see the results I'm looking for.  I think the conditioning that I'm trying to achieve won't come unless I push myself a little more. I'll keep you all posted on what I come up with.

A helpful Tip!

When considering getting a workout buddy, make sure they are someone that is going to help you and be there for you. Near the beginning of your first week working out together call before the scheduled workout and tell them you can't go.  If they say, "okay", you might want to consider a new buddy.  First of all, you want a buddy that you don't feel comfortable flaking out on.  And secondly, one who won't let you cheat yourself.

On my third week!!!

I just got back from the gym today and am feeling pretty proud of myself, being that this is my third week at the gym.  Kellie and I are great work out buddies because we help eachother to be constant and work hard.  Also, we are able to brainstorm together a lot, which seems to keep us motivated and improving.  We do cardio and abs 3Xweek, upper body on Tues. and lower body on Thurs.  We are thinking about maybe doing something more "fun" for cardio on Fri. (like basketball or sprints on the track).  Unfortunatley, I still am having a hard time with my diet...maybe December is a hard month to eat well with the Holidays and all.

yep it's workin'

I'm the Kellie that called Jennica and wanted to work out. I think it's so important to find someone to work out with. Someone who will push you and encourage you. Find someone who, on the days you don't want to go, will come and get you anyway. Someone who is positive. I have a bad habit of being negative. But it's almost impossible when I'm working out with Jennica. THANKS Jennica!!! I'm really excited to make this apart of my healthy lifestyle.

Feelin' Groovy already!

My friend, Kellie,  called me up (which I belive was not a coincidence) and asked me to personal train her right as this challenge was posted.  WOW!  What a difference already...immediately infact.  I started working out at the beginning of this month and already have felt a high impact change happening in my life!!!  I thought when I signed up for this that I would feel better in a physical aspect, but the emotional has been the most important part thus far.  I think the physical change will take some time to reap the benefits.  I've already made my husband and I  a healthy breakfast each morning and we are both drinking more water early in the day, which helps him with his acid reflex.  Plus, it is nice to greet the day instead of crawling out of bed when you feel like it and never getting that boost of energy.

Basketball

Well, I played basketball for about 45 minutes today and it felt good to get the juices flowin'.  I'm really excited to start exercising consistently, because I really think it's going to have a big impact on my ability to contribute on my soccer team.  Let me know how you are all doing!
